Why was this app removed from apple App Store? Is there a way to download it? I just purchased two owlets for my twins who will be born shortly and I’m actually due for a phone upgrade. Thinking of going Android if apple can’t make this app available ASAP.
The manufacturer explains why in this support page of their US website.
The withdrawal of the app by the developer (not Apple) is a result of the US medical authorities declaring that "...the Smart Sock is a medical device because of the heart rate and oxygen notifications". The withdrawal of the app, by the way, is only in the United States.
The linked page also states, "Owlet will transition to a new app experience for Owlet Smart Sock and Cam users". This, I presume, is a tortured English version of "a new app will be made available".
