Airpods audio delay

My airpods have a delay of about 1.5 seconds. I've updated to the latest version of Monterey and the airpods are using the latest version too, then reset. No luck.

Perhaps this is a Faulty Device?

Seems a replacement is the way to go. So, contact the Apple or the seller.

As for a Full-Repair: - Go through the Manufacturer. If Apple - Go Here: AirPods Repair - Official Apple Support. Not having a receipt, replacement may not be an option.

See if these are Apple:

Enter the Serial Number Here: Apple Check Coverage

As for the Sale Itself: No one here has any call in returns. Regretfully, you'll have to take that up with the Seller. :)

  • Contact the seller and request a refund.
  • If purchased off of a Web site (i.e. eBay or Craigslist), view the Terms & Conditions and see what can be done about this.
  • Take this as a learning experience --- next time, try a charge, if purchased in-person

The "Apple Recommended" answer is simply denies there is an issue with Mac OS which is a total cop-out. It's ok for an OS to have bugs.

In Big Sur you could fix this by forcing aptX using Bluetooth Explorer (an tool found in Xcode.) My Gen 2 AirPods worked flawlessly using this fix with my iMac Pro until the Monterey Update (12.0.1). Attempting to download Xcode from the App Store keeps failing for me currently.

They have no issue currently on my M1 MacBook Air (Monterey 12.0.1) nor on my iPhone 13 Pro (iOS 15.1.1). May simply be an issue with the current build, but I would look into Xcode if it downloads for you.

Best of luck,
