how to update safari in 2017 iMac

I'm running 13.1.2 version of Safari and need to update. It shouldn't be a big deal, but apparently I'm overlooking the next step.

iMac 27″ 5K, macOS 10.13

You ned to know that Safari's installed as part of the Mac's operating system. When that is upgraded, so is Safari.

Back up your data, check your applications for compatibility, and click on Mojave, Catalina, Big Sur, or Monterey. Alternatively, switch to a product such as Firefox.
