As was linked previously, tap or click on the following blue-text link to the Apple Support article ➡️ If your Mac doesn't turn on - Apple Support

This info should get you going. If it does not, then you will want to contact Apple Support and schedule a repair.

Yes from Apple. It is a Mac Pro laptop. Don’t know about model.

Here is a (big and heavy and not-very-portable) desk-side-sized Mac Pro computer:

If you have a laptop, then you have a MacBook Pro, or maybe a MacBook, either of which looks much like this:

If you have an Apple laptop, then you do not have a Mac Pro.

Your footer here shows a MacBook Pro. A Mac Pro is a rather large desk-side or rack-mount computer. A MacBook Pro is a laptop. I’m here going to assume you have a MacBook Pro.

If the steps listed in that article fail, contact Apple Support.

Does Apple have the caddy? What is the charge?

If this is a T2 Mac, there’s no caddy that’ll work to extract the data.

The data is encrypted, specifically to prevent extraction and a caddy from accessing the data.

And opening and accessing the storage hardware within a MacBook Pro is a fairly delicate undertaking.

Whatever it is it is dead, and I need the data on it. It is medical records.

Backups are the usual approach for this, and alternatives including repairs and commercial data recovery tend to be more costly, and with lower certainty of working.

Use the Get Support link in the upper right, and make an appointment at the local Apple Store, or make an appointment with an Apple authorized service provider.

Whether the data can be preserved depends on what has failed.

Swapping storage hardware to another Mac and accessing it there is far from certain with newer MacBook Pro models with T2 security and encrypted storage.

What is the charge for Apple to redeem data?

I don't know.

If the Mac startup link referenced earlier doesn't get this Mac going, you'll want to ask Apple about the repair and data preservation or data recovery pricing.

Data recovery services usually involve payment, whether or not any data is successfully recovered.

I’ve tried all I know, and my 2 year old Mac won’t power on.
