Pet dog chewed my Apple Pencil. I have Apple Care Plus. Is it covered?

As the topic reads, my pencil got chewed by my pet dog. I paid for Apple care plus when I bought my iPad along with this pencil. I want to confirm if I'm eligible for claim, though I understand I will need to pay a service fee.

I saw another thread on this very site on the same topic that read it's covered. But I'm not sure if the answer is given by an Apple official or a random person, so I don't know if I am supposed to take that thread with a grain of salt. Any final word by an Apple official would give me complete confidence. Any comments by anyone is helpful of course, don't get me wrong!
