Mac M1 mini to Asus ProArt PA279CV

I just purchased an M1 Mac Mini for my wife and an Asus ProArt PA279CV 27" 4k Display. The display has a built in USB hub when connected via USB. The owners manual mentions that the USB-C port has 65w power output for( I assume) charging a laptop in addition to providing access to the other USB-3 ports.

Is it safe to plug the Mac Mini into the USB-C port without sending that 65w into the Mac Mini? I don't want to brick a brand new mac mini.

Thanks in advance

I found the following in the owners manual, "Read the F'in Manual" strikes again. I need a USB-C to USB-A cable to connect for the hub capabilities on the monitor. Thanks again for your help

"This monitor is Super-Speed USB 3.1 compatible (5 Gbps). The port offers

Max. 65W power delivery with output voltage 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 12V/3A,

15V/3A and 20V/3.25A. Connecting the USB Type-C cable can input

the Display Port source, output power and enable the USB Type-A ports

(downstream) on the monitor. Connecting the USB Type-C to Type-A

cable only enables the USB Type-A ports (downstream) on the monitor."
