I just purchased a Mac mini 2014 , but when I have it hooks up to viewsonic monitor it showed no signal, I have it plugged in to the hdmi port

It shows no signal

Other than the obvious making sure the correct port is selected on the monitor and that the cable is good, who ever sold you the Mini may have sold you "damaged goods" and return it to them for a refund.
