I'd like to gift a subscription to Apple TV to friends that do not have an Apple ID or any Apple devices. AND I'd like to have the gift card/certificate myself to put into a card, not to email it to them. How can I do this?

That depends on the actual TV make and model.
The Apple TV App is available on the following Android TVs:
Android TV Streaming Devices and TVs
(Version 8 or Higher)

When you’re in the Apple TV app on iOS, you can click on your profile picture in the top right corner. There is an option to redeem a code on there. I’d assume the Android version of the app has that too.
When I ask about Android phones, I'm just trying to figure out how they authorize their app that's on a Roku. My only experience is using iPhones and iPads and the Apple TV + sends a code (or displays a code) on the TV and you have to authorize from a phone. Is this possible from an Android phone?
You should not need a code at all on a Roku.
The only time you need a code on a device is if you have setup an Airplay passcode or are using 2 factor authentication on the Apple ID. Since they have no other device, and the Roku will be the only thing accessing the Apple TV, you should not need a code at all.

No there is no Apple TV app for Android phones. Only for Android TVs.
I think you’d have to get an Apple gift card for the amount of an annual subscription and give that to them.
I'm recalling that when I signed up for Apple TV plus there was a code on my TV that I had to enter in my phone. How would that work for someone that doesn't have an Apple device for validation?
Does anyone know if there actually IS an Android Apple TV + app?
