I ran safe mode as per instructions and the words "Safe Boot" appeared on the bottom of my screen.
Then I restarted, and then I ran it again two hours later, but "Safe Boot" did not appear.
Why is tht?

I would assume it is because you didn’t actually get into Safe Mode. Did it operate like Safe Mode?
Thanks Barney! I don't really know if it operated like Safe Mode; when I ran Safe Mode the first time the screen didn't show anything special except that the words "Safe Mode" appeared. But to follow up on your suggestion I think I will just try to run Safe Mode again and watch it carefully, maybe the notice will appear this time. Thanks again, it was helpful to get your comment.
