X inside the battery symbol
My 2015 Mac book air r won’t stay on when I disconnect the power source and it’s just showing that x symbol where the battery is also I noticed the battery light on charger is always orange

It means there is a hardware issue with the laptop. Most likely the Battery is bad. Have Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider examine the laptop to provide you with a repair estimate.
