Changing iCloud IMAP email address

I created my Apple account years ago, and have an iCloud iMAP (@icloud.com) email linked that I NEVER use and just have to create an alias for. Is there anyway to permanently delete the really old iCloud iMAP email that's linked to my Apple account, without losing my Apple account and having to start all over?
