As of 12.6.21 my current operating system, Yosemite has become obsolete. All the browsers have stopped working. I can't seem to find El Captain 10.11 to download to update my system. I need that one before I can even try to update to any other version. What can I do to get my computer functioning again?

The installer cannot open the package:
error is:

You need to upgrade through Snow Leopard or by creating an installation thumbdrive and installing onto a blank volume. Snow Leopard is only available on DVD.

I had to reinstall from original disk and ran updates until they stopped at 10.5.8. Now I’m unable to complete the upgrade to get to either 10.10.or 10.11 using your links.
