Locking phone Volume on Apple iPhone 8

I’ve read there is no way to lock the volume. My 91 yr old father somehow keeps turning the volume way down, so he has no way of knowing/hearing that we’re calling, other than seeing a missed call. Is there any work arounds or hacks?

Any ideas appreciated.

Lock the ringer and alert volumes in Settings

  1. Go to Settings .
  2. Tap Sounds & Haptics (on supported models) or Sounds (on other iPhone models).
  3. Turn off Change with Buttons.

Try, "change with buttons" option, [Disabled]
