The telephone icon on my iPhone 8 shows a badge with the number 1 which I can’t get rid of. I have deleted all calls, switched off badges, restarted, switched badges back on and restarted again, but still the badge persists. The software is up to date.
How do I resolve this?

Do you have Voicemail setup? Try to access your Voicemail to see if you have any pending messages. If you're unable to access it, you'll need to reach out to your carrier for assistance.
