E-mail alias as default in Mail app

Hi,

im using MacOS Monterey and my question is connected to default Mail app.

I have Google Workplace mail account (witch is really Gmail with my domain) and Im starting using this account with alias. The problem is - i don't know how change alias to default. When im trying to write mail I need to change from main@domain.com to alias@domain.com every time.

If I go to Prefferences -> Accounts and change main@domain.com to alias@domain.com there is problem with server connection (mail is stuck in Sending folder)

Any tips?

Thanks

Hello filip259,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities! We understand your concern with your Gmail account, and we're happy to help in any way possible.

If you've already set up the alias for that Gmail account in Mail using the steps in Use email aliases in Mail on Mac, you should be able to set that alias as the default when composing new messages. To do this open up the Mail app and select Mail > Preferences > Composing. In the "Addressing" section, click on the dropdown for "Send new messages from" and select the alias email address.

Best Regards.
