MacBook Pro 14" (2021) Camera Turns On for All Phone Calls

Good morning.

I recently received my new MacBook Pro 14" (2021). I used Migration Assistant to go from my prior MBP to this one, so the settings should be pretty equivalent.

I have Oversight running to let me know when my camera and mic turn on/off.

The camera has been turning on for /every/ phone call I receive, not just FaceTime calls. This was not happening with my prior MBP. I'd like to get things set so that the camera does not activate for regular phone calls.

Thank you.

Hi Lissy

My question wasn't so much about which apps use the camera and how to control that access as it was about phone calls and FaceTime.

Prior to migrating to my new MacBook Pro 14", I had a 2018 MacBook Pro 15".

Ordinary phone calls could be answered on my computer (vice my phone), but those ordinary phone calls did not trigger FaceTime to activate the camera. The camera only turned on when I answered a FaceTime call.

Now, the camera activates with every single phone call, whether I answer it on my phone or on the computer. That's what I'd like to be able to turn off, if it's possible.

Thank you.
