Notifications directly to hearing aids are not working

I have a new Phonak P90-R hearing aid which connects to my iPhone 12 Pro (running ios 15.1.1) very well, except that there is no ring tone for incoming telephone calls or text messages. The problem is that when my Phonak is connected to my iPhone, the iPhone does itself does not ring on incoming calls so I miss the calls completely. Can anybody advise me if I need to change some settings? As it is, I am missing telephone calls and may need to stop using my hearing aid.

Hi lennard39,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities. We know it's important for incoming calls to come through your hearing aids, and we'd like to see if we can help out. We have a resource that covers a few settings to check as a starting point. See if this helps: Use hearing devices with iPhone

"Adjust the settings and view the status of your hearing devices

  • In Settings: Go to Settings  > Accessibility > Hearing Devices > MFi Hearing Devices.
  • Using accessibility shortcuts: See Use accessibility shortcuts on iPhone.
  • On the Lock Screen: Go to Settings > Accessibility > Hearing Devices > MFi Hearing Devices, then turn on Control on Lock Screen. From the Lock Screen, you can do the following:
    • Check battery status.
    • Adjust ambient microphone volume and equalization.
    • Choose which hearing device (left, right, or both) receives streaming audio.
    • Control Live Listen.
    • Choose whether call audio and media audio are routed to the hearing device.
    • Choose to play ringtones through the hearing device."

Keep us posted on how it goes.

Kind regards.
