Siri didn’t quite catch that

When activating “Listen for Hey Siri”, I repeatedly get “Siri didn’t quite catch that” but when I long press the power button, Siri works.

How can I solve this issue

PS: I have already tried restarting and resetting

iPhone X, iOS 15

Hi mungiria,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. We understand that "Hey Siri" isn't working as expected, so we'd like to see how we can help. You mentioned restarting and resetting. Just to confirm, what steps did you take to reset? Do you mean you restarted your iPhone, you restored it to factory settings, or something else? If you haven't done so already, turn "Hey Siri" off in Settings > Siri & Search, then set it up again. It's also a good idea to make sure you're running the latest version of iOS 15 that's compatible with your iPhone (15.1): Get the latest software updates from Apple.

Cheers.

Hi,

I hope mungiria doesn’t mind me hijacking this thread!

I have an iPhone X running iOS 15.2 and Siri isn’t working for me either. This appeared to change when I went to iOS 15 and possibly earlier. When I try to set it up, Siri can’t seem to hear me and says “Siri didn’t quite catch that. Try again”.

Using the Voice Memos app, and a call to a friends phone, all microphones appear to be working. I have turned off the phone using Shut Down in Settings, also using the volume up and power button to force a restart. I have turned Siri off and on using all three toggles in Siri and Search, tried Reset Network Settings and Reset All Settings.

Siri works fine when I long press the power button, but won’t recognise a voice using Hey Siri.

What can I try next?
