If we have in the past used the Apple TV+ for a free trial period does that disqualify us for having it included in the student subscription for Apple Music?
The bundle of Apple TV+ as part of the Apple Music Student subscription is not a separate subscription, nor a trial. You would get access to Apple TV+ content as long as Apple Music Student subscription is active or until this bundling is ended. Just open the Apple TV app and start watching Apple Originals (through the same Apple ID account). Indeed, nothing in the documentation suggests that prior subscriptions have effect on this bundle.

Apple says if I have previously tried a free trial (based on apple purchases) of Apple TV+ that would disqualify me for getting it again with the student subscription. Yet is is not posted anywhere in the documentation.
As long as you are an eligible student and subscribe to the student plan for Apple Music you will receive the other service until such a time they stop offering it. If you want to make sure you can always contact Apple.
That would not be possible because you aren't subscribed to Apple TV Plus, you are only subscribed to Apple Music (with the student plan effectively giving free access to the TV service). The test would simply be whether or not you have an issue accessing the service, and if that were to occur then you would contact support.
That is how I always understood it as well.
@sbeckas. You should be able to just access it as part of your student AM plan, if you have further issues you may want to try speaking with another rep.
It would definitely disqualify from getting the offer with a standard subscription. if it’s a a similar type of offer offered through the student plan then it would make sense that the same terms apply.
I guess the true test will be if I am billed separately for Apple TV+ viewing. I think Apple staff/advisors have many different guidelines that appear to be not uniform across the board.
FYI.
They have also hired advisors who do not own Apple products. Apple says it is a diversity policy so discrimination against non Apple owners does not happen. For me - that means getting support by phone becomes so very lengthy because they need to research products/ software in order to provide answers. I also cannot get phone support after 8pm because I am on the West Coast.
