iPad 2nd Generation 2011

I have a couple new iPads but was going to donate my two older ones but seems a lot of apps aren’t compatible. I take it this can’t be resolved due to the age. They are in pristine condition as well so it seems a waste for what maybe a child would use it for. Thanks

App store Recently found my very old ipad. Which my son has now taken ownership of but when he's gone to downloads app on it uts coming up saying the app isn't compatible. What is oldest IPad I should buy? I am buying an IPad for my 90 year old Mother to help her keep in touch with her adult children who live long distance away. We only need basic functions like the ability to use apps such as Netflix, Facebook, Google chrome and so on. I bought an older one which was an IPad Air ( not IPad Air 2 or 3) from a supposed reputable website in Australia. But when I got it, I tried to download a Netflix app, and a message said I need IOS 14.0 or higher. which the IPad Air doesn’t have access to because it’s too old. I complained to the website saying they shouldn’t be selling IPads that don’t function as iPads anymore. pits only function now is as a digital photo frame. They said I should have checked, it’s my own fault. So my question is. To access the minimum of IOS 14.0 and higher what is the oldest model of IPad, iPad Air or iPad Pro should I get that will give me at least a few years of use? The website have credited me my purchase money less $50 handling so I have to get another one from them, so I don’t want to fail this time. Your help is much appreciated.

Ipad mini 1 gen I still have an old ipad mini 1 gen and is working perfectly. The problem is that all the apps are not compatible for this device. This is a bad atitude from apple. we should have access to those older versions even if we had to pay a symbolic price. I´m sure this has to do with sell more products (because there are many apps that would still work fine on ipad mini and other older devises) but is sad to have a high cost device that has potencial be unusable. I wouldn´t even have access to garageband if i had not downloaded it a few years ago... it´s a shame... Not going to buy an ipad any time soon for sure...

Yes

A 2011 iPad is now over 10-1/2 years old.

There are NO MORE compatible apps for such an old device.

All over 9-11 year old iPads are fully and completely obsolete at this very late date in 2021.
