There is a setting to stop the phone from ringing while driving. I'm pretty sure I have that turned on. It worked with my iPhone 6 plus, but my iPhone 12 rings while I'm driving. Is this a known bug? I can't find the setting right now, but I'm pretty sure it's still there. I'm running iOS 15.1.1.
I never want my phone to ring while driving. I have also noticed that texts make a sound during my sleep hours, which are set.

I found Do Not Disturb under Focus. I have it set to activate automatically, and I know that works because when I get home and login to my MacBook Pro, I get a notification that while driving is turned off. I noticed that Driving was disabled so I re-enabled it. I hope that solves the problem. I have no allowed notifications.
I discovered that Focus either does not allow me to set up Do Not Disturb as I want or else I don't understand it. I'm on the phone with Apple Support. If I turn on Do Not Disturb and then turn on Driving, Do Not Disturb turns off on its own. If I then turn on Sleep, Driving turns off. That makes no sense unless the top Do Not Disturb is the manual setting, though I have set to activate automatically while driving. But why can't I set it to Driving and Sleep. The support guy at Apple is consulting with his senior advisor.
So, it does turn out that those are manual settings which should be off to work properly. However, since I got two phone calls on the freeway today, they apparently do not work properly. The same is true for texts I received at 2 am when my sleep time is set to 10 pm to 6 am.
