Any recommendations on security software for my Mac? I currently use Norton 360 that has a VPN for my iPhone, but at $100. a year it's kinda pricey. MacWorld recommends Sophos, which doesn't include a VPN, but they might be biased.

most users here (including me) will not recommend using any such software. most of those apps are notorious for causing major issues within macOS. if you are worried about security, i highly recommend reading Effective defenses against malware and other threats - Apple Community. it's a long article, but it's well worth your time to read every word.
No need for just software.
In the meantime, you can also delete Norton as well.
FYI: All you need to do is keep macOS up to date.
macOS has very strong builtin security.
I strongly second the recommendations above. Use the Norton uninstaller to completely remove the unneeded app. Incidentally, Apple does not recommend any apps of other vendors. Thosr which are listed in the Apple App store are certified as compliant with apple's specifications. It's a completely different thing.
