I changed to OS Monterey today and the flag icons at the left hand side of my inbox mail has disappeared. I like to see which messages are flagged in the inbox. How can I get the flags back again?

If you are using the column layout, ctrl-click on the column headers and add the Flags column, drag it to the left.
If using the normal layout, the flag is not at the left, but should show in the message preview, towards the right side.

I think flags returned when I pressed control and the small circle on the tool bar, and became visible. It was not actually a dragging motion, just a click on the circle.
