How to get a used Apple TV to work
We bought a used Apple TV but it won‘t allow us to hook up to the WiFi. It says my password is incorrect but I never enter a password

You can go into settings to restore it to it's factory settings. It will also depend on which model you got, anything older than an Apple TV HD would not be recommended.
