Verizon/Apple $200. rebate scam

I just purchased a new iPad. Today I attempted to take advantage of the "deal" offered by Verizon (and two other phone companies). After setting everything up through online chat, it turned out that the new line (required for the rebate) costs $23.00 more a month. The person I was chatting with was unable to see how this is a bait-and-switch disgrace. I am in the process of trying to go back to the old line and my old (and perfectly good) plan. Apple (and, obviously, the three phone companies) should be ashamed of themselves.
