Bluetooth Keyboarding lagging badly

My Bluetooth keyboards lag badly in my new iPad Gen 9, I have three keyboards which all work perfectly on my iPhone 12. I’ve done all the suggested fixes but none work. How can I fix this?

iPad, iPadOS 15

Which version of iPadOS is currently installed? Do you have any updates pending?

Sorry I forgot to add.

I have

disconnected and re-paired.
disconnected all Bluetooth items, turned it off and started up again.
changed all my settings to the same as my iPhone.
Reset to factory settings

what I have noticed though, is when the keyboard connects a thin blue border appears around the Bluetooth screen section.
