Spotify & HomePod

I know this question has been Brought up on here several times but just wondering if there are any new updates with the new HomePod. I just bought four of them to mainly use as speakers for my office and I have had no luck getting Spotify to work. I like Apple but this is kind of crazy absurd the app doesn’t link up and play seamlessly. It’s the largest music streaming app in the world and I have zero interest in ever paying for an Apple Music subscription. I’ve resorted to using the free trial but just wondering what my options are to stream Spotify or I’ll have to find another workaround but I am not going to buy Apple Music because that’s obviously what it seems like Apple is trying to make everyone do.
