Finder now shows "Waiting to Upload" yet the folders are in iCloud.

When I open a Finder Window and go to iCloud, the folders I care about (documents, music, and photos [zipped]) show "Waiting to Upload." However, status shows each item in each folder is uploaded. Additionally, my iCloud account on-line shows every item has been uploaded - each song, each document, etc.

Is the "Waiting to Upload" status a change in the iCloud app that I didn't notice, after one of the IOS updates? As always, I appreciate any help.

Hi ColleenD1 -

Nothing worked - until I thought to remove downloads. Once I started that, iCloud restarted; all of the files I designated to be on iCloud only are now only on iCloud. I knew I had to "reboot" iCloud on my computer somehow, but as usual, didn't think of the simple solution right away. Thank you for your attention and assistance.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We understand that you're having an issue with some files that are waiting to upload on your Mac. We'd like to help.

Have you restarted your Mac since you noticed this issue? If that didn't help, try to boot into safe mode to see if those files load then:

How to use safe mode on your Mac

If they load correctly in this mode, restart and see if things are fixed after that.

Since it's still not working, check out the steps under "If your files don't update to iCloud Drive" found here: Access iCloud Drive files from your iPhone and other devices

If you complete those steps, and the issue continues, Contact Apple Support to see what the best next steps would be.

I originally tried turning off my Mac and restarting it, with no luck. I booted the Mac in safe mode as you suggested, but in safe mode the folders continue to show as "Waiting to Upload." I restarted my Mac and the iCloud folders still have the same status of "Waiting to Upload." I'm hoping for further advice. Thank you!
