I have a 5 min screen recording from Quicktime. Trying to share it using H.264 because the file size is small enough (<5GB) to upload on an other platform.
It took roughly 3 hours to export!
On the flip side, the ProRes 422 finished the job within 2 mins.
How do I fix this?

This is extremely unusual.
Start by deleting preferences, and repeat whenever the application does not behave normally, or crashes.
To delete preferences, hold down command and option while starting FCP X and click Delete Preferences.
The application will start in a default state, and open an "Untitled" library. Reopen the library you were working on, set the preferences the way you like them, and try again.
If the problem persists, cancel the export and tell us more about your system:

In the meantime, if you try to convert the ProRes file to H264 directly in the Finder (control-click,Services,Encode Selected Video Files), does it similarly take an inordinate amount of time?
The problem persists even after deleting preferences. The Etrecheck is attached.
I tried converting Prores file to H.264, it works. Takes <5mins.
I don't see anything in the report that stands out, and creating H264 using the Finder works quickly, so all that remains, at as far as I can think of right now, is the possibility of some existing Final Cut plug-ins not working correctly in the current version or in Apple Silicon macs.
Check the third party plugins and see if any is perhaps in need of an update.
As another test, you could try doing the same export from a new admin user account and seeing how that works.
