Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. We understand that you're unable to receive messages on your MacBook. Is the issue limited to receiving messages or are you unable to send them as well? If you haven't done so yet, take a look at article, If you can’t send or receive messages on your Mac and try the suggested troubleshooting actions provided here.
