2010 Macbook Pro won't update
Hey, I have a 2010 MacBook pro and had it forever now. However, now it won't install any new updates and I don't have the money to buy a whole new computer

Updating High Sierra:
The latest it can go is likely macOS High Sierra. So, go here to download it.

The latest it can go is likely macOS High Sierra. So, go here to download it.

updates install the changes for the SAME major version.
To make progress, you would need to UPGRADE, which is more like a purchase, but on sale for $0.
I recommend you install !0.11 El Capitan, which has an improved Mac App Store and can allow you to upgrade further if you like.

Important:
Back Up your Mac First: Be certain you Create a Time Machine Backup of your Mac prior to installing the upgrade. That way you can have something to restore your Mac from, should anything go wrong with the upgrade.
