The download of Monteray stops at 13.1 instead of 13.6 even when left overnight. Any ideas?

My device is a 2020 MacBook Air (Retina) and I am trying to upgrade from Big Sur (11.6.1) to Monteray. The download runs well until approx 13.1 of the 13.8 b has been downloaded and then it stops downloading. Even leaving the download to run overnight, I get the same results. I have had this issue when trying to run other upgrades on this machine. Any idea why this happens. I just updated my wife's 2019 MacBookAir to Monterey with no issues, so it sounds like I may have have a setting that's interrupting the process.

Thanks.

A - Empty Space Requirements  >> If upgrading from macOS Sierra or later, your Mac needs 26GB of available storage to upgrade. If upgrading from an earlier release, your Mac needs up to 44GB of available storage.

B - There are factors:

1 - Like poor Wifi connection

2 - Slow wifi connection

3 - Too many other people downloading at the same time and Apple Severs are overloaded

4 - Software on the computer interfering with the download process including AntiVirus Software

5 - Running behind a VPN which may increase Packet losses and may corrupt the download

6 - If via wifi too many Other devices using the wifi at the same time reducing the Bandwidth to your computer.

7 - Best Results are via Ethernet Cable to Router

C - Interesting on file size. Refer to picture below of the Full Installer of Monterey 12.0.1 - 12.17 GB size

Thanks for the follow up suggestions:

A. Empty space available: 423.19 GB available - exceeds requirements.

B. 1, 2 & 7 - wifi is not active, using dedicated EtherNet.

B. 3 - Multiple downloads at different times over different days all have the same results.

B. 4 & 5 - All privacy/security options and software such as antivirus, VPN, etc. were and have remain deactivated during all attempts with no change in results.

B. 6 - At least six (6) attempts to update have been made with all wifi and ethernet devices deactivated.

C. Updater shows download file size as 13.3 gb.

Interestingly, Time Machine no longer functional in bigsur.

Thanks.

Thanks for your input. Have now been able to download Monterey upgrade but it terminates with error message “The package "%@" is missing or invalid”. Followed resolution steps including restoring “Big Sur”, but continues to terminate with same error message. Verified that download file size is reported as 13.1 gb.

Thanks.
