Audio (Podcasts, Music) stops playing when using Safari?

Nope, not a bug.

It's working as it's designed to do.

The video on the site is taking over the audio.

Until Apple provides a way to stop auto play videos on websites, it's going to happen.

Auto play videos are the worst, I avoid sites that rely on them to generate views

It sounds like this may be due to the ads so let's see if we can keep those from automatically playing. From Settings > Accessibility, try disabling Reduct Motion if it is enabled.
