Can you use a older lighting cord for charging instead of the usb-c cord?

I’m getting a new iPad mini and it has usb-c. Can I use my current lightning cord to charge?

If you are referring to the newest model of iPad Mini, it doesn’t have a Lightning port. Instead, it has a USB-C connection. The appropriate cable and charge cube will ship with it.
