Can’t Download Bank App

I’m not able to download my new banks app. When I press Get, a window pops up asking for my Apple ID password. Once I do that, then it wants me to add a debit/credit card. It’s done this before a few weeks ago when I tried to download the app for a credit card I recently got. Never had this happen before. I have an iPhone XR with iOS 14.8.1.

So I just opened an account for this bank, so no I don’t have a card for it yet. This is only coming up when I try to download the app. Like I said before, this has happened before a few weeks ago when I opened up a new credit card and tried to download the app for that card. Seems like any app that involves a credit card or a bank something like this comes up.

To start, we'd suggest providing more detail about the issue. When the pop-up appears to enter your billing information, what is happening? Are you unable to enter anything? Do you already have the payment information stored in there, but it won't allow you to proceed? Are you getting some sort of error message when trying to save the payment?


Details like these will help give the community a better idea of what you're seeing so members can provide more relevant responses.

Hi Andreab28,


Thanks for those details. So when you get to the verification required step, you select continue and it shows your saved payment information, and when you select it everything is correct. There's nothing to verify. Got it.


If the verification is not working on the device, go directly to the Apple ID website and sign in to your account.

Once you're signed in, go to the Payment Methods section on the left then try adding your payment information there and saving it. Once it's added and saved, try downloading an application on your device again and see if you're still getting the verification required prompt.
