Do iPhone alarms play out loud with headphones in?

I have a Bluetooth headband that I wear while I sleep. I use it to play white noise and keep the sun out since I work overnights. On my Android phones, it’s always played the alarm though the headphones as well as the phone. I just switched to my first iPhone (13 mini running iOS 15.1.1) and the alarm won’t play through the headphones. The headphones just go silent. I found the article below that indicates that it SHOULD play…but it doesn’t. Please help.

Thanks for reaching out, MarkL286.

It sounds like you've tried the steps in How to set and manage alarms on your iPhone to set an alarm, but it isn't working how you expected. We can help.

We'll want to see if we can isolate this behavior to either the iPhone or the headset. Can you confirm for us if any alarms will play through your Bluetooth headband?

Also, some items to check include:

  • If the Silent/Ring button is set to Ring.
  • The volume level of your device
  • The volume level of your headset

Be sure to let us know.
