How can I find the lost iPad, except the Find iPhone feature?

Other than the FindMy feature, you will have to retrace your steps

and physically look for the iPad. There is no other technological

assistance available to the user.

Was the FindMy feature not activated? Is there another problem?

If you provide more information, someone may offer a solution.
