Do you mean the autosave function?
I've never used it. Always a confusing pita to me.

The autosave function was put there for a reason. Anyway, in Windows, the file you work, create a temp file and you can find it even if there was a disaster. in Mac, there are temp files, unfortunately, it deletes automatically after shut down.
Everything is put there for a reason, but that doesn't mean it suits everybody's needs. For one thing, suppose something happens and autosave malfunctions and you don't know it. The "auto" part has lulled you into complacency perhaps so you don't manually save as you normally might.
And as yesican has shown us, too much dependency on automatic processes can lead to unintended adverse consequences.
The admonition to always [manually] save your work is as relevant today as it ever was. That and personally responsibility for your actions will likely never go out of style.
Has anyone suffered with same problem?
Yes indeed
Unfortunately I used it and this is the problem, it did not autosave last 2 days, and after the power cut, I suffered greatly.
Do you not regularly save your work? When I close any Office product with which I've edited a file, it always asks do I want to save. Always save.
