Ethernet to Lightening adaptors not working with iOS 15.1

I have recently updated to iOS 15.1 and found that none of my RJ45 ethernet to Lightening adaptors worked, all of them having worked seamlessly previously. There was a thread / discussion about this on reddit.com with no solution found, although Belkin adaptors were reported to work fine and someone reported: "As it turns out, after 15, if certain latency thresholds aren't present, iOS will disable the ethernet dongle. We haven't determined the exact latency #'s yet, but it latency is low, the dongle will be disabled. We have, however, clearly determined that apple considers this a feature and no fix is planned."

I have found the following fix ...

Plug Ethernet to Lightening adaptor in to iPhone ...

In Settings select 'Ethernet', which appears as usual between Wi-Fi and Bluetooth ...

Select 'USB 10/100 LAN' ...

Switch off 'iCloud Private Relay' ...

-> Voila! Ethernet to Lightening adaptors now work!
