how to Change the name of macOS user account

you should first consider how important the name change is for you. it's a very complicated process. even one mistake can result in being locked out of the account, and losing all data contained within that account without any hope of recovering that data.

you may also want to have that article printed out if possible, or maybe have it opened on a different computer.

I think you need to create another admin account to perform those changes.

the article is NOT written by "others". it's a page DIRECT FROM APPLE. if you know as much as you claim, READ the article. you will see that you cannot just erase the existing name and type in a new one. if you don't want to read what APPLE has said about the process in question, it's your loss. and that's all i have to say on the matter.

I said because my support is based in many years of experience with hardwars and software not just apple software no based what others has written in an article that get the people confuse , no offense but I am not a simple apple device user

it's a little more complicated that just going to "advanced options" and erasing the name and typing the new name in. please see the article i linked to in my previous reply.

Go to system preferences then users & groups to enable all those settings click on the Lock 🔒 type your Mac passcode then select right click over your name and see Advance Options then there you can change your name
