Home hub with iPad 4gen (ios 10.3.3)

I have been using older iPad as Home hub with no issues until recently. After my iphone xs has been updated to ios 15.1 it doesnot show any automation on the iphone anymore and also cannot adjust the automation from the iphone. In addition, the automation in the iPad (Home hub) gets deleted and I need to re-establish it again and again.

Any idea what is wrong ? Both devices are logged using my icloud account - so not issues there. I also see the home kit devices from both (iphone and ipad) - but the automation is somehow palying weird.

Hello skevo8,

We understand you're experiencing an issue with automations and your home hub, and we'd like to help.

To help us get a better understanding of the issue, we’d like to ask a few questions.

  1. Did you use these steps to create automations? Create scenes and automations with the Home app
  2. You mentioned that the automation gets deleted on your iPad; when that happens, do any specific error messages appear?
  3. Did you use the steps in the "Set up iPad as a home hub" part of this page to set up your iPad as a home hub? Set up your HomePod, HomePod mini, Apple TV, or iPad as a home hub

Thanks!

Hi,

to confirm:

1) yes, the steps in automatia creations have bee followed; pls note that the Hub is done via Ipad 4th Gen where the latest ios in only 10.3.3

2) After adding automation (in Ipad / hub) it appears as ok; However - it is removed overnight - so next day in the morning it is not there anymore (see pitcures attached). So I can't get the newly added automation to remain

3) yes; iPad is set as hub

It seems that as if the data/icloud from iPhone is overriding the data from the IPad (hub) overnight. Also, if I want to add automation in the iPhone - I am getting and error message that the automation cannot be added. So I am stuck with those 2 automations I had there before.

I have the same situation too.

While on my ipad (10.3.3) everything seems fine, my iphone (xs 15.1) doesnt' recognize the ipad as hub.

In the ipad I can set automations, but they just don't work (i.e. if I set a rule at certain time nothing happens)

In the ipad and in my phone I can control the lights and devices, but the Home Hub function is not working
