View in playlist jumps around

I recently bought an iMac, and while I listen to music in my playlist while it is in songs view, the view jumps to the top or the bottom of the list by itself. For example, just now I rated the song that is playing, and after a pause of maybe half a second, and before I touched anything, the view jumped to the top of the list, but the same song continued to play. To be clear, it doesn't affect the playback of the music, just the view, and it happens basically every time I return the view to the current music playing.
