Monterey 12.0.1 bluetooth charging status, Magic Mouse 2, not shown by percentage

I could not find a Google answer for this, so I will try here.

Before Monterey, when I plugged my Magic Mouse 2 in for charging (this is a 2017 model iMac Retina), clicking on the Bluetooth menu icon would show the charging status in terms of percentages. I recently updated to Monterey 12.0.1, and am charging the mouse for the first time. As the attachment shows, there is no percentage provided on the charging status - I have to unplug the USB-B/Lightning cable to see it.

Is that normal with Monterey? If so, that sucks. I hope it will at least tell me that it has completed.

Anyone know if Monterey no longer shows the percentage charged DURING charging?

I am glad to hear this. I was thinking there was some sort of setting in preferences somewhere that I was missing out on. I know that in the Bluetooth preferences, I can see whether the charging has completed yet or not; there are no percentages shown, so I have to estimate the completion time. But it helps, rather than unplugging my mouse all the time.

I have no idea why Apple did this.

But I did learn that the word "s-cks" is considered naughty by Apple (the "*****" in my OP above). Heh.

I have the same issue!!! The ONLY way to see how much your Magic Mouse has charged is to unplug it & let it connect to Bluetooth. Then & ONLY then does the battery percentage show up again!!! Can we PLEASE get the battery percentage DURING charging back the way it has been for years??

Yeah, as I mentioned in my reply above, the Bluetooth Preferences shows when the charging is completed (though not percentages) without unplugging the device.

I was not aware of the T2 problem. I was thinking of upgrading my laptop. Hmm....

I'm just glad that I didn't upgrade to monterey, because people are getting problems with it. First, it is apple bricking people's macs that has a T2 security chip, and now this? I prefer staying in Big Sur thank you very much, as long it continues to get security updates. I just don't trust Monterey.

Anyways...did you try to go to system preferences, then mouse? I don't know if it will show the battery of both mouses, so connect "Magic Mouse 2", and disconnect the other. Connect "Magic Mouse 2" to a charger. Do you see the percentage of the mouse there, even though it is charging?

I had the Bluetooth prefs open & it showed it as charging...& charging...& charging for a long time. They usually charge pretty fast so I unplugged the cable, it connected & showed 100% charge. Bluetooth Prefs failed to show when it was done charging. Apple, COME ON!!!!!!!

The T2 problem is fixed like months ago, but that started to make me not trust Monterey at all. It was literally making people's macs unusable for some people who upgraded to Monterey(Those people were very unlucky). There are articles/news of it online. I have 0% trust for Monterey.
