two days ago I noticed that I can't hear the start up boing when I turn on my 2018 Mac Mini with Big Sur installed.
No changes done by me, no new hardware, no new software.
Why do I miss the boing?
If I try the PRAM reset I can hear the boing, but when I turn on Mac Mini after the reset no boing :-((
Sound at start up on setting is checked.
Someone could help me, please?

Mac mini, 11.6
Open Terminal and use the following command:
sudo nvram StartupMute=%00
Hopefully the setting will “stick”.
I had the same issue. Only when I updated the OS did it come back.
How about this Terminal command:
sudo nvram BootAudio=%0
There is also an update of macOS Big Sur that came out today in the U.S.: version 11.6.2. I think it should be also available in Italy if not today, at least tomorrow.
