Thank you. I still can not get the Microphone to work.

My microphone works for everything else as far as I know. Works for voice phone calls. When I follow your directions, and go to Settings/Privacy and select microphone, it takes me to a screen with a blue square, and the words "App Clips". When I touch that tab, and its arrow^ pointed to the right, it reads" App clips that have requested access to the microphone will appear here"

When I follow your directions and go to Settings/Privacy and select Camera, I get to a window that has a list of apps, that include Zoom, that are linked to my Camera. And buttons to turn the camera on/off for Zoom.

When I am using the Zoom app, the Microphone icon in the lower left corner shows my microphone is muted. And I am unable to unmute it.

Greetings DWeso,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. It seems like the microphone will not work in the Zoom app. If the microphone works in other apps, it may be that you need to change access to the microphone for the specific app.

Does the microphone work making calls?

  1. "Go to Settings  > Privacy.
  2. Tap a hardware feature, such as Camera, Bluetooth, Local Network, or Microphone.

The list shows the apps that requested access. You can turn access on or off for any app on the list."

Hey DWeso,

Thanks for the update. In Settings > Privacy > Microphone, you would see apps listed beneath App Clips if the app had requested access to the Microphone. Since this is isolated to the Zoom app, see if the steps they provide are helpful. You may need to contact the app developer directly.

"Troubleshooting Microphone Issues

If you are experiencing issues using your microphone with the Zoom mobile app, follow these steps to troubleshoot the issue:

  • Ensure the microphone is not on mute. If you see the muted Audio icon in the meeting controls, tap it to unmute yourself:
  • If you are still muted, the host may have muted you upon entering the meeting. Ask to be unmuted by sending a chat message to the host.
  • Ensure you have connected your mobile device's audio. If you see the following Join Audio icon in the meeting controls, tap it and select Call Over Internet. If prompted, allow Zoom to access your microphone.
  • Try using earphones with a microphone.
  • Ensure Zoom has access to your device's microphone.
    • iOS: Go to Settings > Privacy > Microphone and switch on the toggle for Zoom.
    • Android: Go to Settings > Apps & notifications > App permissions or Permission Manager > Microphone and switch on the toggle for Zoom.
  • Ensure that no other applications are using the microphone at the same time.
    • iOS: Double-tap the "Home" button to view apps currently running. Swipe up to close an app.
    • Android: Tap the multi-task button (the square icon usually in the bottom-right corner) to view apps currently running. Swipe left of right to close an app.
  • Restart your iOS device.
  • Reinstall Zoom from the Apple App Store or Google Play"
