Shutter sound

Plan to buy new iphone 13 pro max in South Korea. I know in South Korea all cameras have an audible shutter sound when a photo is being taken. But I recently read on the forums that users of Korean iPhones, after updating to ios15, can turn off the shutter sound, is this true?

If I buy now a new iPhone there and upgrade to ios15, can I turn off the camera shutter sound?

I live in Russia and, according to the law, i can take pictures without the sound of the shutter

Greetings Kimvlad34,

Thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities! It seems you're curious if upgrading to iOS 15 can allow the shutter sound to be muted.

In regions where the shutter sound has mute disabled, updating iOS will not affect the mute from being disabled. Check out the iOS 15 user guide below:

Adjust the shutter volume on the iPhone camera - Apple Support

"Note: In some countries or regions, muting is disabled."

Kind regards.
