import old iTunes Library

I need to make a new Music Library that will live on an external HD. I need to import my old iTunes Library into Music App Library, and create this new Library on an external HD. I will add 6 new songs then sync to my iPhone. How do I get all my old songs into a new Library and save the folder to an external HD, no room on my new Mac mini. Thanks

Launch iTunes with the Option key held down, choose Create Library, specify a location on the external drive, and drag the media files from the old one to it. Alternatively, drag the existing library to it and use the Choose Library option.
