I was trying to erase the HD on my Mac Book Air and somehow the HD (SSD) icon has disappeared and I can't reload OS X onto it. I managed to restart using the Disk Utility, but it still doesn't recognize the SSD. How do I resolve this?

Three Things to Try...
A. Start with a Restart:
Restart your Mac, and see if it then is fixed.
B. Refresh Finder:
C. Unmount, then Mount the Drive:
Boot into Recovery Mode. (Silicon Chip or Intel Clip): Then, using Disk Utility, see if the Hard Drive is seen. If it is, then see if you need to click the “Mount’ button for it. Try rebooting once more. If of no success, then click unmount button, and then the mount button. Try rebooting once more.
