HDR in Quicklook/Finder/Photos
I've recently purchased one of the new MacBook Pros with the XDR display and I've been experimenting with HDR for the first time, using Affinity Photo to combine multiple exposures from my iPhone.
This is the first true HDR display I've owned, so I'm a bit of a novice at this. But I've produced some results which (to me) look stunning in Affinity Photo. But as soon as I export them in HDR or EXR format macOS seems to clip the colour to SDR range. They will open and appear as expected in Preview, but in Quicklook, Finder, and Photos, they look awful, washed out and massively over exposed.
Is this normal? Does macOS really just not have system wide HDR support yet? Seems odd for pro machines they have been pushing so hard as suitable for HDR production.
