i have a problem with my BENQ external display connecting to my macbook 16" mid 2015. the problem is that when i connect the HDMI cable the pc it does not recognise the display immediately. it takes some time (allways different) untill it works, then some times after some time it fails again.

i dont know if this is something i am doing wrong or some malfunction. hopefully there is an easy answer.

If your external display isn't detected or appears blurry on your Mac

How long has this been happening? Has it worked properly in the past and just recently stopped working? Also, ensure that your MacBook is fully up to date along with confirming if your display needs a firmware update.
